Custom Sisal Rug Program

So you have been shopping for forever it seems trying to find the perfect rug with the right color combination to coordinate with your room. Well Bassett might just have the solution for you! Bassett offers a custom rug program with nylon or sisal rugs. This year Bassett increased the number of templates available in our nylon custom rug program.

The nylon rug selections have 12 templates with 40 color options to choose from. Then choose your shape; runner, rectangle, oval, square, octagon and round. They have designated sizes but custom sizes are possible as well.

The design options are quite extensive. Once you have selected the size, shape and colors we have the ability to design on the computer so you can see your design before you purchase. While colors can differ a bit on the monitor as well as the dye lots of the yarns, you do get a pretty good idea of what the rug will look like.

Our custom sisal rugs are available in 4 colors for the field (center) and 40 fabrics for the border. Also choose from a variety of sizes such as; runner, rectangle, square and octagon.

I recently moved to the coast near Half Moon Bay. I have always loved living near the water. Although the ocean can be intimidating, I find it to be a very beautiful and serene place to live. Growing up my parents had a cabin on a lake in South Dakota where snapping turtles, leeches and an occasional spring flood were about as dangerous as you could get.
I loved summer, packing up to spend a week at the lake. Fishing, swimming, hiking and skiing were highlights for my summer vacations. As a youngster I had more ideas than money. I tried to decorate the cabin with items found around the house that I felt could spruce up the place. Looking back, it was a failed attempt. But I had so much fun looking for ways to make it home. And the best part is my mom let me do whatever, no judgement. One year I planted a garden on one side of the garage, and most of the flower actually bloomed! I love flowers but I do not have a green thumb.

Here at Bassett we have our partnership with Sherman Williams. They have put together 8 different paint color collections to inspire customers looking to refresh the color scheme in their home. From Rustic Refined to Color Pizazz there are many color combinations to create. I chose the Coastal Cool to highlight here due to my new home.
In the formal living room I am looking to add a few items to spruce up the neutral palate.  A few pillows and a couple of empty areas where a picture or two could add some nice balance and visual appeal. I love the  coastal artwork we sell here as well. There are some vintage prints as well as Koi paintings,

sea shore paintings, black and white photos of sailboats.  I am constantly browsing websites to get ideas. Houzz is one that I enjoy as well as Joss and Main.  I picked up Coastal Living recently. There are some really good ideas including some great food recipies. I am not very experienced in preparing seafood, but grilling tends to be an easy way to prepare a variety of fish and sea foods. Just throw on some olive oil, garlic, butter and s/p and you are good to go with most anything.

Oooooh, the possibilities!

I have helped dozens of people design their own custom headboards/beds and typically people want a neutral because they want versatility. I get it. Some people want to get it over with, too many options to consider. They want the flexibility to switch up bedding without having to start over. But the artist in me wants them to go bold. I decided to play around with some fun combinations to get your creative juices flowing. Having worked in retail for several years I have noticed when customers see a sample displayed, they tend to feel comfortable to buy that design. Bassett has created a great interactive website where you can design your new bed on your computer. Ideal when you want to see what your bed will look like before you purchase. The NEW Lauren Sofa

Bassett has recently released a new collection called Lauren that will soon be on our San Carlos showroom floor. The Lauren is a wonderful design that has the ability to be formal or casual. It really offers a lot of versatility. The collection offers an extra long sofa at 90" long with a seating length at 81" which is one of the longest sizes available. Other pieces in the collection are a studio sofa (also 3 cushions), love seat, accent chair and ottoman. Bassett assigned a very nice neutral herringbone fabric with a with a fiber content of linen, rayon, poly and cotton. The intricate weave and yarns used in this fabric will catch and reflect light creating a sophisticated elegant appeal. And of course if you prefer a different fabric you may select a from our design center.
This collection also offers some custom options. Choose any fabric in our design center for pillows to accent your room. The sofa and studio sofa have two pairs of pillows. Other features you can customize on the Lauren are adding fringe or cord to your pillows, upgrade your seat cushion from standard foam to an extra firm comfort level, accent pillows can be made with more plush blend down filling and finally choose a wood finish of your choice on the legs.

HGTV Magazine

I just picked up the freshly painted pastel March issue of the HGTV magazine. Always a great source of inspiration, I was surprised to see one of Bassett's new dining chair designs! They put together a collection called "Furniture of the Year Award". They feature our updated Windsor chair. The classic spindle style chair is updated with simple lines and is available in both arm chair and side chair options. Shown in HGTV magazine the chair is painted in 3 of our new enamel colors however it is available in all 44 custom dining colors. Picture it, a set of 6 chairs each in a different color with a neutral heirloom finish wood table would be so fun!

At Bassett YOU are your own designer! Now while that may be liberating for some, it can be a scary undertaking for others. I'm here to help you navigate all of the options. As an artist my passion for color and design allows me to help you find what you want and either make it work with your current pieces or help you build an entirely new look. 

I am lucky to work in a beautiful showroom with many designs to inspire and get you started. As a designer it is my goal to help my clients to tap into their creativity and partner with them to find design solutions. After all this is supposed to be a fun process. With the various Bassett tools, I am able to show my clients what to expect. Another benefit with working with me is a Home Call. I will come to your home, measure your space(s) and then create a floor plan. Introducing the furniture you plan to purchase, as well as any pieces you would like to keep, you have peace of mind that you are getting what you want and it takes the guesswork out.
